Hello fellow Chasers. A warm welcome to our current and many new subscribers. Great to have you with us today.
Wow, spring is here, you lucky folks in the Northern Hemisphere. I can almost smell the freshness in the cool crisp air. But reality can sometimes be harsh. I step outside and I’m greeted either by an unbearable heat or a smoky haze draping the rooftops and distant hills in a translucent gray .
A better idea to sneak back indoors and finish up this issue, I guess. Got some brilliant ideas for you on using the last 10 minutes of your work day to plan ahead. Just 10 minutes, I’ve tried it and it really works! Tomorrow morning, you simply saunter over to your desk with that perfect cup of coffee in your hand - no worries, your day’s already been laid out! All here in today’s issue...
Speaking of which, I’m out of here headed straight for that long cool glass of sea coconut waiting in the fridge . I reckon if I can’t have spring in the air, I’ll have spring in a glass. What do you say!
Thanks for sticking around. Here’s wishing you brilliant blue skies and fantastic weekend weather. See you next week, rain or shine!

Boost Your Productivity with 10 Minutes at the End of Your Day
by Neen James
Once you have completed your day you can boost your efforts for tomorrow with an investment of only 10 minutes. Apply these strategies at the end of your work day and you will definitely increase your productivity.
Quitting time. Schedule time at the end of your day; just like for your first 60-minutes, you need to block-out the last 10-minutes of your day to make time for your end-of-day routine.
Look ahead. Start your ‘to do’ list for the next day. The best time to do this is at the end of the day when your focus is still on the job – it’s far more difficult to do in the morning when you’re wondering where you left-off the day before.
Carry over incomplete tasks from your current day’s list and add new priorities. It helps to clear your head and put it to paper and you’ll be amazed at how much more effective you can be when your brain power is being put to problem-solving rather than trying to remember everything you need to do! It helps too to give you a clearer picture of what needs to be achieved and what you can delegate – and, there’s enormous satisfaction in being able to tick-off completed items and review your achievements at the end of the day!
What’s in store? Check your diary and commitments for the following day and be aware of what’s coming up, where you need to be and what preparation, tasks and projects you need to focus on.
Leave it clean. Clear and tidy your desk, throw rubbish in the bin, sort leftover mail and papers and put your files away; apart form being good housekeeping, it is good for office security to have valuable company information filed away in locked cabinets or drawers. By clearing your workspace you also signal the end of the day and clear your mind. Wash up. Clean your coffee cup, empty your water bottle, wash any leftover dishes or containers from lunch, and start each day afresh.
Carry your reading. Put your reading file in your briefcase. If you don’t already have one, start a reading file and carry it with you on your way home. You can get through a surprising amount of reading while on public transport to and from work and while waiting in queues.
Shut down. Switch your phone to voicemail, remembering to change your message if you’re not going to be in the next day, or if you’re going to be in late. Close out your email, again, remembering to activate your ‘out of office’ message if you’re not going to be in the next day, and switch off your computer, screen & printer.

3 Simple Tips for Making Perfect Coffee
By Gary Gresham
Want to brew the perfect cup of coffee?
Here are 3 simple tips that will make a difference in every single cup you drink.
Tip #1: Clean Coffee Pot
A clean pot is essential and can make a world of difference in the taste of your coffee. Old oils from previous batches of coffee and soap residue left on the pot makes coffee taste bad.
Baking soda and water work well for cleaning coffee mugs and pots. Be sure to rinse extra good so no residue is left behind.
Tip #2: Clean Filtered Water
The water you use for your coffee will affect the taste more than anything. Coffee is 99% water so use clean filtered or bottled water free from chlorine and other minerals that will affect the taste of your coffee.
Using stainless steel or gold mesh filters instead of paper filters will also make your coffee taste better. Paper filters release dyes, chlorine and bleach that affect taste. If you insist on using paper filters buy the unbleached, brown paper filters.
Tip #3: Use Fresh Quality Coffee
Quality coffee costs more but will consistently produce better tasting coffee.
For the best results use quality, whole bean coffee and grind the coffee beans just prior to use. You might think it's an inconvenience compared to ground coffee, but once you taste the difference you'll never go back.
If you still want to use ground coffee, make sure you use a good, drip grind coffee.
Use 2 level tablespoons of coffee per 6 ounces of water. This can be adjusted for individual taste preference. Make sure to spread the grounds evenly in the coffee filter so full brewing is achieved.
Drink your fresh coffee right away for the best flavor. Coffee will break down quickly if left on a heat source. Coffee should never be reheated or microwaved.
A clean, preheated air pot or stainless steel Thermos will keep coffee hot for about an hour without hurting the flavor.
If you follow these 3 simple tips, every cup you brew will be perfect coffee.
