Editor’s Scribbles

Hello fellow Chasers new and current,

My apologies for this issue being late. I was nursing a migraine yesterday and was totally immobilized. I can feel another migraine coming on right now so I’m going to quickly finish this up here and send it out.

Oktoberfest last weekend was a lacklustre event, badly organized and best forgotten. You can read more about that on my blog, Gimme A Break and stop by and say hi to a somewhat lonely blogger.

Freebies and Goodies Alert

Check the rotating headline animator below for the new stuff added daily. Freebies, gift ideas, travel ideas and lots more.

Modern Living

Conquering Your Decluttering

by Diane McLain

Step 1.

Do you feel a little overwhelmed by all the clutter in your house? You can simply turn this around with a small shift in your mind set. Always keep in mind how your house looked or will look without the clutter.

Imagine the beauty and ease of care with the removal of the things that are lying around your house. Keep that image in your mind at all times. That image will be the driving force behind the action that is necessary to get de-cluttering accomplished in your home.

De-cluttering is only as big as your mind makes it. If you keep your mind on the finished product, a clean house, and not on the task itself it will seem effortless.

You can imagine the whole house at one time or you can imagine how one small space will look when it is de-cluttered. You could go into a closet, something that is out of site and start there. Look into the closet and visualize how you want it to look when you are finished de-cluttering.

As you look around in the closet mentally choose the things you consider clutter and visualize the space without them. At this point, even if you don't remove one piece of clutter, you have set the mood and desire to accomplish the task. You have inspired yourself to take the action of de-cluttering your house.

Step 2.

Now, that you have "set the stage", as described in step 1, you have the inspiration to motivate yourself to get all of the de-cluttering finished in your home.

This step is critical to how the flow of this de-cluttering project will go. At this point you have a picture in your mind of how "the finished project" will look, whether it will be your closets, your living room, your kitchen, basement, or your whole house. You have a strong desire to get this done. This desire will move you through the entire project.

Now make a plan of how you are going to proceed. I recommend that you write this down on paper because this too will keep you motivated as you go along. Don't let this overwhelm you.

All you have to do is jot down some key words that will jog your memory. This part is to make it easier, no harder. If this step overwhelms you, just go to the next step which is TO TAKE ACTION.

During this phase of the de-cluttering, the first thing to do is to get a sheet a paper or notebook and start making columns. Make the first column, trash.

Make a column for give aways, things to keep, sentimental, and don't know, yet. Leave space for other categories you might think of adding. Now, assess what could consider trash and write it down. This is the most important part of the whole process.

Herbal Tea Recipes - Give Yourself A Boost

by Kerris Samson

If you would like to create herbal teas of your own there are, a wealth of sites on the internet today, which can offer you advice, and herbal tea recipes that you may want to consider trying.

There are so many different types of herbal teas to choose from that you may need to try them all before you find those that you really like.

Below we take a look at some various different recipes and the way in which they can help you. The first recipe we are providing below is one that will help to provide you with energy and gift you a lift.

To make yourself an uplifting tea you will need the following ingredients all of which have been dried. 25g chamomile flowers, lavender flowers, lemon balm leaves and 50g of vervain, peppermint leaves and crushed linden flowers.

You mix these ingredients together, then place in a jar (dark in color), and then store them away. Then when you need to make your teas get 1 or 2 teaspoons of the mix and place in a small teapot or a tisane cup.

Then get some boiling water and add this to the mixture you have placed in the teapot or cup. Allow the mixture to brew for around 5 to 10 minutes before you pour it through a strainer. Then all you need to do is drink it.

The next recipe we provide is one that is ideal for you to drink at night as the ingredients used possess properties that can help your mind and body relax.

In order to make this particular tea you will need 25 g of California poppies along with 25g of hawthorn flowers and dried melilot. Plus 50g of wild lettuce leaves.

As with the uplifting tea you take the ingredients for this recipe, mix them all together, and then place them in storage container. They will then be available to use as and when required. When you are ready to make yourself a nice cup of warming tea to drink before you go to bed here is what you need to do.

Take 1 or 2 teaspoons of the mixture and place in a teapot or a tisane cup, which comes with a lid, cup strainer and saucer. Then you next need to boil up some water and add this to the mixture.

Now allow the whole mixture to stand for 5 to 10 minutes so the water becomes infused with the herbs. Then after this time as with the uplifting tea, you simply strain it and then drink.

Along with herbal tea, recipes that are able to give you a boost or help you relax there are others, which can help to remove unwanted toxins and substances from the body.

But the biggest advantage to be had from using such recipes is that they are completely natural and free of caffeine as well as being low in calories
